Michael Cansfield Joins Bach Week Festival as Festival Manager
Evanston, IL: Michael Cansfield has joined Bach Week Festival as festival manager, effective September 11.
Mr. Cansfield most recently was general manager of the Chicago Gay Men’s Chorus. He remains concert associate at the Dame Myra Hess Memorial Concert Series, a post he has held since 1993. Mr. Cansfield holds a degree in theater arts from Kalamazoo College, Kalamazoo, Michigan.

A rite of spring in the Chicago area, Bach Week Festival is the Midwest’s largest concert series focused solely on the music of Johann Sebastian Bach and his contemporaries. The festival features some of the country’s finest musicians, many of whom perform regularly with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and the Lyric Opera of Chicago Orchestra.
The 2007 season, encompassing six concerts, takes place Friday, May 4, Sunday, May 6, Friday, May 11 and Sunday, May 13. Programming highlights this year include a performance of J.S. Bach’s St. John Passion on Sunday, May 13.
